SOMEONE’S WAITING FOR YOU
sung by: Shelby Flint

Be brave, little one
Make a wish for each sad little tear
Hold your head up, though no one is near
Someone's waiting for you

Don't cry, little one
There'll be a smile where a frown used to be
You'll be part of the love that you see
Someone's waiting for you

Always keep a little prayer in your pocket
And you're sure to see the light
Soon ther'll be joy and happiness
And your little world will be bright

Have faith, little one
Till your hopes and your wishes come true
You must try to be brave, little one
Someone's waiting to love you

SO FAR SO GOOD
sung by: Sheena Easton

No way of knowin' where we're goin'

No way of tellin' what we've got
Love is attraction, calls for action like it or not
We're no one-nighter, we're much righter
I taste tomorrow in your kiss
But I can't sell you, I won't tell you
That we can't miss, I'll just say this

So far so good
We've been movin' right along just like we should
So far so good
If it isn't love it's still in the neighborhood
Knock on wood baby, so far so good

I tell you one thing, we got something
Somethin' that's comin' from the heart
If we don't know it
I just know it could be a start
You take your chances with romances
Nobody gets a guarantee
We're much better than
I ever thought we could be
So let's just see

So far so good
We've been movin' right along just like we should
So far so good
If it isn't love it's still in the neighborhood
Knock on wood baby, so far so good
I'm not pullin' any punches
I'm not handin' you a line
I'm just telling you my hunch
Is all we need is a touch more time

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN
sung by: Gene Kelly &
Debbis Reynolds (uncredited)

Don Lockwood:
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo

I'm singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin'
Singin' in the rain

Dancin' in the rain
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
I'm happy again!
I'm singin' and dancin' in the rain!

I'm dancin' and singin' in the rain...
Why am I smiling
And why do I sing?
Why does September
Seem sunny as spring?
Why do I get up
Each morning and start?
Happy and head up
With joy in my heart
Why is each new task
A trifle to do?
Because I am living
A life full of you

SIMPLY JESSIE
sung by: Rex Smith

And I don’t know how I knew it
But I knew it somehow
You’re the answer to the question
No one’s answered till now
And I don’t know what you see
What you see in me
Girl it’s nothing to what I see in you

Stars that glisten
Lips for kissin’
Honey listen it’s true
No one ever loved you better
I love ya honey

And I’ve known a girl or two
But none of them was you
And they could never be what you are to me

Stars that glisten
Lips for kissin’
Honey listen it’s true
No one ever loved you better
I love ya honey
I love you
I love you
I love you
I love you
I love you

SHE SAID (SCREAM 2, 1997)

"How do you know that my dimwitted inexperience isn't merely a subtle form of manipulation, used to lower people's expectations, thereby enhancing my ability to effectively manuever within any given situation?" - Dewey

What follows Wes Craven's second installment to the successful Scream series is the second set of soundtrack of the film as well. Just like in the first Scream, it boast of mix selections and Collective Soul provided the somber tune via She Said.

SHE SAID
sung by: Collective Soul

She said that time is unfair
To a woman her age
Now that wisdom has come
Everything else fades
She said she realizes
She's seen better days
She said she can't look back
To her days of youth
What she though were lies
She later found was truth
She said her daddy had dreams
But he drank them away
And her mother's to blame
For the way she is today

Life's river shall rise
She said
And only the strong shall survive
She said
But I'm feeling quite weak
She said
Will you comfort and forgive me?
She said

She says she's still searching
For salvations light
Yeah she wishes all day
And then she prays all night
She says she won't speak of love
'Cause love she's never known
And it's moments like these
That she hates to be alone
Life's river shall rise
She said
And only the strong shall survive
She said
But I'm feeling quite weak
She said
Will you comfort and forgive me?

SHE (NOTTING HILL, 1999)

"Whoopsidaisies!" - William Thacker

Julia Roberts' Notting Hill is one of her biggest hits in her career. She plays Anna Scott, a movie superstar that parallels her own. William Thacker (Hugh Grant), a british owner of a travel bookshop falls for her in an unlikely circumstances, she enters into his bookstore and eventually his heart. Elvis Costello, sung also one of his popular songs ever. And his rendition of She is nothing short of wonderful.

SHE
sung by: Elvis Costello

She may be the face I can't forget
A trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay
She may be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day

She may be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a heaven or a hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
A smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell

She who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She may be the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
That I'll remember till the day I die

She may be the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The one I'll care for through the rough and ready years
Me I'll take her laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is
She, she, she

SECRET GARDEN (JERRY MAGUIRE, 1996)

"Everybody loved him... Everybody disappeared." - tagline

Tom Cruise stars as the titular character about finding yourself when all has left you. He plays as the once celebrated sports agent Jerry Maguire. Only Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding, Jr.), an egomaniacal football player comes to rescue him. Bruce Springsteen sung the famous song from the movie (while overhearing the cheesy dialogues that came from the leads, on the song's other version).

SECRET GARDEN
sung by: Bruce Springsteen

She'll let you in her house
If you come knockin' late at night
She'll let you in her mouth if the
Words you say are right

If you pay the price
She'll let you deep inside
But there's a secret garden she hides

She'll let you in her car
To go drivin' round
She'll let you into the parts of herself
That'll bring you down

She'll let you in her heart
If you got a hammer and a vise
But into her secret garden, don't think twice

You've gone a million miles
How far'd you get to that place where
You can't remember and you can't forget

She'll lead you down a path
There'll be tenderness in the air
She'll let you come just far enough
So you know she's really there
She'll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say

She's got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need
Will always stay a million miles away

SEA OF LOVE (SEA OF LOVE, 1989)

"In search of a killer, he found someone who's either
the love of his life... or the end of it." - tagline

Sea Of Love was touted as Al Pacino's comeback during the late '80's (his first in 4 years). He plays Frank Keller, a New York detective on the trail of serial killings where victims were found through the lonely hearts column in newspapers. He then falls in love with Helen (Ellen Barkin), the main suspect. The plot had been told many times before but it still works in the movie due mainly by the cast's inspired performances. Phil Phillips with the Twilights' melodic Sea Of Love was used aptly in the movie.

SEA OF LOVE
sung by: Phil Phillips with the Twilights

Come with me
My love
To the sea
The sea of love

I wanna tell you
Just how much
I love you

Do you remember
When we met
That's the day
I knew you were my pet

I wanna tell you
Just how much
I love you

Come with me
To the sea
Of love

Come with me
My love
To the sea
The sea of love

I wanna tell you
How much
I love you

Come with me
To the sea
Of love
Do you remember
When we met
That's the day
I knew you were my pet

I wanna tell you
Just how much
I love you

I wanna tell you
Just how much
I love you

SAY YOU SAY ME (WHITE NIGHTS, 1985)

Lionel Richie sung one of his best songs ever Say You Say Me in the movie that won at the Oscars and the Golden Globe for best original song.

SAY YOU, SAY ME
sung by: Lionel Richie

Say you, say me
Say it for always
That's the way it should be
Say you, say me
Say it together
Naturally

I had a dream
I had an awesome dream
People in the park
Playing games in the dark
And what they played
Was a masquerade
From behind the walls of doubt
A voice was crying out

Say you, say me
Say it for always
That's the way it should be
Say you, say me
Say it together
Naturally

As we go down life’s lonesome highway
Seems the hardest thing to do
Is to find a friend or two
Is to find the that helping hand
Someone who understands
When you feel you lost your way
You've got someone there to say
I'll show you

Say you, say me
Say it for always
That's the way it should be
Say you, say me
Say it together
Naturally
So you think you know the answers
Oh, no
Well, the whole world’s got you dancing, that’s right
I’m telling you
It’s time to start believe, oh yes
Believe in who you are
You are a shining star

Say you, say me
Say it for always
That's the way it should be
Say you, say me
Say it together
Naturally

Say it together
Naturally

RUN TO YOU (THE BODYGUARD, 1992)

“Never let her out of your sight. Never let your guard down.
Never fall in love.” – tagline

Whitney Houston sung one of her best songs in her first lead role in the movie The Bodyguard. She plays a pop superstar terrorized by a death threat. In comes former Secret Service agent Frank Farmer (Kevin Costner) hired to protect her. The movie’s soundtrack topped the charts more than any other movie themes combined. The song was nominated at the Oscars along with the other song in the movie, I Have Nothing for best original song and at the Grammys for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television.

RUN TO YOU
Sung by: Whitney Houston

I know that when you look at me

There's so much that you just don't see
But if you would only take the time
I know in my heart you'd find
A girl who's scared sometimes
Who isn't always strong
Can't you see the hurt in me?
I feel so all alone

I wanna run to you (oooh)
I wanna run to you (oooh)
Won't you hold me in your arms
And keep me safe from harm
I wanna run to you (oooh)
But if I come to you (oooh)
Tell me, will you stay or will you run away

Each day, each day I play the role
Of someone always in control
But at night I come home and turn the key
There's nobody there, no one cares for me
What's the sense of trying hard to find your dreams
Without someone to share it with
Tell me what does it mean?

I wanna run to you (oooh)
I wanna run to you (oooh)
Won't you hold me in your arms
And keep me safe from harm
I wanna run to you (oooh)
But if I come to you (oooh)
Tell me, will you stay or will you run away

I need you here
I need you here to wipe away my tears
To kiss away my fears
If you only knew how much...

I wanna run to you (oooh)
I wanna run to you (oooh)
Won't you hold me in your arms
And keep me safe from harm
I wanna run to you (oooh)
But if I come to you (oooh)
Tell me, will you stay or will you run away

REFLECTIONS (MULAN, 1998)

"The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare
and beautiful of all." -The Emperor of China

Disney takes another fact-based story of a strong-willed young woman (Pocahontas is the other) named Mulan who disguised as a man and join the army to fight the invading Huns. Lea Salonga sung the theme Reflection during the movie while Christina Aguilera provided her version at the end of the movie. The song was nominated at the Golden Globe for best original song.

REFLECTION
sung by: Christina Aguilera

Look at me
You may think you see
Who I really am
But you'll never know me
Every day
It's as if I play a part
Now I see
If I wear a mask
I can fool the world
But I cannot fool my heart

Who is that girl I see
Staring straight back at me?
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?

I am now
In a world where I
Have to hide my heart
And what I believe in
But somehow
I will show the world
What's inside my heart
And be loved for who I am

Who is that girl I see
Staring straight back at me?
Why is my reflection
Someone I don't know?
Must I pretend that I'm
Someone else for all time?
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?

There's a heart that must be
Free to fly
That burns with a need to know
The reason why

Why must we all conceal
What we think, how we feel?
Must there be a secret me
I'm forced to hide?
I won't pretend that I'm
Someone else for all time
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?

When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?

REMEMBER ME THIS WAY (CASPER, 1995)

"All I want's a friend." - Casper

The famous friendly ghost made a big leap into the live big screen version via the movie, what else, "Casper." A fine family movie about a young girl's unlikely yet fated meeting with Casper. Jordan Hill sung the famous friendship song, Remember Me This Way.

REMEMBER ME THIS WAY
sung by: Jordan Hill

Every now and then
We find a special friend
Who never lets us down
Who understands it all
Reaches out each time you fall
You're the best friend that I've found

I know you can't stay
A part of you will never ever go away
Your heart will stay

I'll make a wish for you
And hope it will come true
That life would just be kind
To such a gentle mind
If you lose your way
Think back on yesterday
Remember me this way
Remember me this way

I don't need eyes to see
The love you bring to me
No matter where I go
And I know that you'll be there
Forever more a part of me, you're everywhere
I'll always care

I'll make a wish for you
And hope it will come true
That life would just be kind
To such a gentle mind
If you lose your way
Think back on yesterday
Remember me this way
Remember me this way

And I'll be right behind your shoulder watching you
I'll be standing by your side and all you do
And I won't ever leave
As long as you believe
You just believe

I'll make a wish for you
And hope it will come true
That life would just be kind
To such a gentle mind
If you lose your way
Think back on yesterday
Remember me this way
Remember me this way

PEOPLE
sung by: Barbra Streisand

People

People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world
We're children, needing other children
And yet letting a grown-up pride
Hide all the need inside
Acting more like children than children
Lovers Are very special people
They're the luckiest people in the world

With one person
One very special person
A feeling deep in your soul
Says you were half now you're whole
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person who needs people
People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world

With one person
One very special person
A feeling deep in your soul
Says you were half now you're whole
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person who needs people
People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world

More popularly known in the Philippines as Ready For Love when it was shown in the ’80’s. La Boum is about a teenager named Vic (a very young yet beautiful Sophie Marceau) who longs to attend a ‘big party’, hence, the French term, La Boum. REALITY
sung by: Richard Sanderson

Met you by surprise

I didn't realize that my life would change forver
Saw you standing there
I didn't kinow I care
There is something special in the air

Dreams are my reality
The only kind of real fantasy
Illusions are a common thing
I try to live in dreams
It seems as if it's meant to be
Dreams are my reality
A different kind of reality
I dream of loving in the night
And loving seems alright
Although it's only fantasy

If you do exist
Honey, don't resist
Show me a new way of loving
Tell me that it's true
Show me what to do
I feel something special about you
Dreams are my reality
The only kind of reality
Maybe my foolishness is past
And maybe now at last
I see how a real thing can be
Dreams are my reality
A wonderous world where I like to be
I dream of holding you all night
And holding you seems right
Perhaps that's my reality

Met you by surprise
I didn't realize
That my life would change forever
Tell me that it's true
Feelings that are cue
I feel something special about you

Dreams are my reality
A wonderous world where I like to be
Illusions are a common thing
I try to live in dreams
It seems as if it's meant to be
Dreams are my reality
I like to dream of those close to me
I dream of loving in the night
And loving you seems right
Perhaps that's my reality

RAINDROPS KEEP FALLIN' ON MY HEAD (BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID, 1969)

"You just keep thinkin' Butch. That's what you're good at."
- Sundance Kid

One of the most iconic films of all time also has one of the most memorable themes ever put on the screen. Paul Newman and Robert Redford star as the titular characters, Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid as leaders of the infamous Hole-in-the-Wall Gang. B.J. Thomas sung the theme that has become part of movie history. The song won the Oscars for best original song and nominated at the Golden Globe for the same category. A classic.

RAINDROPS KEEP FALLIN' ON MY HEAD
sung by: B.J. Thomas

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he got things done
Sleepin' on the job
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

But there's one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me
[trumpet]

It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me

THE RAINBOW CONNECTION (THE MUPPET MOVIE, 1979)

"It's not often you see a guy that green have the blues that bad."
- Rowlf The Dog

Undeniably one of the most well-loved song, The Rainbow Connection, came from no less a movie about puppets, Jim Henson creations that is. Aptly called, The Muppet Movie, it tells of how the beloved characters had begun according to Kermit The Frog (Jim Henson). The song was nominated at the Oscars and the Golden Globe for best original song. Also covered many times by numerous artists.

THE RAINBOW CONNECTION
sung by: Jim Henson as Kermit The Frog

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
And look what it's done so far
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing?
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

All of us under its spell
We know that it's probably magic....

Have you been half asleep
And have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name
Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same
I've heard it too many times to ignore it
Is it something that I'm supposed to be?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

La, la la, La, la la la, La Laa, la la, La, La...

PUT YOUR ARMS AROUND ME (EVER AFTER, 1998)

"My great-great-grandmother's portrait hung in the university up until the Revolution. By then, the truth of their romance had been reduced to a simple fairy tale. And, while Cinderella and her prince did live happily ever after, the point, gentlemen, is that they lived."
- Grand Dame

Drew Barrymore plays to a tee the role of Danielle, a sort of the real Cinderella sans the magic and fairy godmother. And she's no pushover also. Director Andy Tennant brings to the big screen one of the most commendable version of the famous fairy tale character. Texas sung the theme heard at the end of the movie.

PUT YOUR ARMS AROUND ME
sung by: Texas

Are you ready maybe
Are you willing to run
Are you ready to let yourself drown
Are you holding your breath
Are you ready or not

Are you ready maybe
Do you long to confess
Do you feel that you're already known
Are you sure of yourself
Would you lie if you're not

You tire me out
Don't wanna let that happen
A secret screamed so loud
Why did you let that happen

Hoo hoo so put your arms around me
You let me believe that you are someone else
Hoo hoo 'cause only time can take you
So let me believe
That I am someone else

Maybe, are you ready to break
Do you think that I push you too far
Would you open yourself
Are you reckless or not

You tire me out
Don't wanna let that happen
A secret screamed so loud
Why did you let that happen

Hoo hoo so put your arms around me
You let me believe that you are someone else
Hoo hoo 'cause only time can take you
So let me believe
That I am somewhere else
Let me believe that I am somewhere else

Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la

Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la

Hoo hoo so put your arms around me
Hoo hoo so put your arms around me
Make me believe
Take me take me
Somewhere
Somewhere
Let me believe
'Cause only time can take you
So stop

And you'll be

Traveling in
The world of my creation
What we'll see
Will defy

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There's nothing
To it
There is no
Life I know
To compare with
Pure imagination
Living there
You'll be free
If you truly wish to be

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There's nothing
To it

There is no

PROMISE ME YOU'LL REMEMBER
sung by: Harry Connick, Jr.

Promise me you'll remember
This love together today
We may not have tomorrow
It's not for us to say
Fate isn't kind to lovers
It breaks the hardest hearts
Promise you'll remember
How good we are

Why do I find the sadness
Under your sweetest kiss
Destiny seems to whisper
It won't stay like this

Whenever we're together
I feel time standing still
I only know I love you
And I always will
If we should lose each other
Somewhere inside the dark
Promise me you'll remember
How good we are

Whenever we're together
I feel time standing still
I only know I love you
And I always will
If we should lose each other
Somewhere inside the dark
Promise me you'll remember
How good we are

Time isn't kind to lovers
It breaks the hardest heart
Promise me you'll remember
How good we are

POWER OF TWO (BOYS ON THE SIDE, 1995)

“A motion picture that celebrates the art of survival, the gift of laughter and the miracle of friendship.” – tagline

The film’s tagline pretty much sums it all up. Jane (Whoopi Goldberg), Robin (Mary-Louise Parker) and Holly (Drew Barrymore) forged a bond that test their friendship unlike any other. One’s a nightclub singer, the other’s a quirky real-estate agent and another on the run from a drug-dealing partner each dealing with their own skeletons in the closet. Singer duo Indigo Girls sung the well-loved song Power Of Two that has become sort of a theme song about girl friendships.

POWER OF TWO
sung by: Indigo Girls

Now the parking lot is empty

Everyone's gone someplace
I pick you up and in the trunk I've packed
A cooler and a two-day suitcase
'Cause there's a place we like to drive
Way out in the country
Five miles out of the city limit we're singing
And your hand's upon my knee

So we're okay, we're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We'll look at them together then we'll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two

You know the things I'm afraid of
I'm not afraid to tell
And if we ever leave a legacy
It's that we loved each other well
'Cause I've seen the shadows of so many people
Trying on the treasures of youth
But a road that's fancy and fast ends in a fatal crash
And I'm glad we got off to tell you the truth

'Cause we're okay, we're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We'll look at them together then we'll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two

All the shiny little trinkets of temptation
Something new instead of something old
All you gotta do is scratch beneath the surface
And it's fool's gold
Fool's gold
Fool's gold
Make new friends but
Keep the oldBut remember
What is gold
What is gold
What is gold

Now we're talking bout a difficult thing
And your eyes are getting wet
I tookus for better and I took us for worse
Now don't you ever forget
Now the steel bars between me and a promise
Suddenly bend with ease
And the closer I'm bound in love to you
The closer I am to free

So we're okay, we're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than a monster beneath your bed
I'm smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We'll look at them together then we'll take them apart
Adding up the totals of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two
