Based on the novel by Anna Quindlen, One True Thing is the story of a successful career woman (Renee Zellweger) who is forced to take care of her cancer-stricken mother (Meryl Streep). Discovering along the way some things about her family she never thought would happened. It's a tearjerker coupled with Bette Midler's soulful rendition of the bonds between a mother and her daughter, My One True Friend.
