DREAM LOVER (BEYOND THE SEA, 2004)

Award-winning Actor Kevin Spacey uncannily resembles and acted out one of the famous singers who ever lived, Bobby Darin. Spacey not only play Bobby but also sing all of Darin's hits. One of the signature song was, Dream Lover.

DREAM LOVER

sung by: Kevin Spacey

Every night I hope and pray a dream lover will come my way

A girl to hold in my arms and know the magic of her charms

Because I want (yeah-yeah yeah) a girl (yeah-yeah yeah)

to call (yeah-yeah yeah) my own (yeah-yeah)

I want a dream lover so I don’t have to dream alone

Dream lover, where are you with a love, oh, so true?

And a hand that I can hold, to feel you near as I grow old?

Because I want (yeah-yeah yeah) a girl (yeah-yeah yeah)

to call (yeah-yeah yeah) my own (yeah-yeah)

I want a dream lover so I don’t have to dream alone

Someday, I don’t know how, I hope she’ll hear my plea

Some way, I don’t know how, she’ll bring her love to me

Dream lover, until then, I’ll go to sleep and dream again

That’s the only thing to do, till all my lover’s dreams come true

Because I want (yeah-yeah yeah) a girl (yeah-yeah yeah)

to call (yeah-yeah yeah) my own (yeah-yeah)

I want a dream lover so I don’t have to dream alone

Dream lover, until then, I’ll go to sleep and dream again

That’s the only thing to do, till all my lover’s dreams come true

Because I want (yeah-yeah yeah) a girl (yeah-yeah yeah)

to call (yeah-yeah yeah) my own (yeah-yeah)

I want a dream lover so I don’t have to dream alone

Please don’t make me dream alone

I beg you don’t you make me dream alone

No, no, I don’t wanna dream alone

Come on, my darling, don’t make me dream alone

Please don’t make me dream alone...

DEEPEST BLUEST (DEEP BLUE SEA, 1999)

Rapper-Actor LL Cool J provided the movie's theme with cool rap aptly titled Deepest Bluest. LL plays the chef onboard the research facility infested with killer makos.

DEEPEST BLUEST (SHARK’S FIN)

sung by: LL Cool J

Uh, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Manmade terror

Hungry jaws of death

Y’all don’t cross my depths

I’ll pause your breaths

I cause you to sink down forty thousand leagues

Bleeding to death with no arms and short sleeves

My world’s deep blue

Killers gotta eat too

Looking for human flesh to rip my teeth through

Other fish in the sea but Barracudas ain’t equal

To a half human predator created by a needle

Jet black eyes baby they stare while you sleep

When your Titanic sinks I’m the one you gon’ meet

Hearing terrified screams they surround my team

All you see is trails of blood

Even God won’t intervene

Nightmares of darkness

My appetite is heartless

Even if we related, you eliminated regardless

In the deep blue, underwater walls

Half man, half shark

My jaws don’t fall

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Our Father who art in Heaven

Hallowed be Thy name

Killers sworn to beast

Swallowed them in flames

They switched my DNA

Trip me into Cool J

I can’t fight the feeling

I’m born to kill prey

To survive an attack

There’s only one way

Battle to the death

That’s how sharks play

Weapons left behind

We dueling with the mind

You blind, crippled, or crazy

You’re real easy to find

Struggling to flow with hemorrhages in your throat

Getting the lap dance while I smash through your boat

Eat your whole fam

Nothing left but a right hand

Clinging to a rail

Escape, attempts fail

You’ll never make it home

Tear the flesh off your bone

Walking in undercurrents is a dangerous zone

I’m talking death out a moment’s notice

You wasn’t focused

Me and my crew strike

Like some underwater locusts

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Uh, uh take it deeper

Uh, uh take it deeper

Uh, uh take it deeper

Uh, uh take it deeper

These waters are waist level

The hallway’s flooded

Lost your scuba gear

The killer’s cold-blooded

His name’s LL

You don’t really want it

I ate your ancestors

The ocean is haunted

I’m closing in cause I’m supposed to win

How the cold steel feel when it froze your chin

Should of stayed on dry land

Stroke while you can

’Cause now you under pressure in the land of the damned

Abandoned pirate ships

Eels and sod scum

Fish that glow in the dark

The Titanic’s hub

Underwater storms

Your blood is so warm

Your life vest is off

And that turns me on

Killer for centuries

The Gotti of the deep

In the next millennium

I’m still gonna creep

Sand under my belly, ocean over my head

Through the light in the shadows

You become the living dead

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin

DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES (DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES, 1962)

Crooner Andy Williams sang the soulful theme Days Of Wine And Roses from the movie of the same name. A drama about alcoholism, the film stars Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick. The song won an Oscar for Best Original Song.

THE DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES

sung by: Andy Williams

The days of wine and roses

Laugh and run away

Like a child at play

Through a meadowland

Toward a closing door

A door marked 'nevermore'

That wasn't there before

The lonely night discloses

Like a passing breeze

Filled with memories

Of a golden smile

That introduced me to

The days of wine and roses and you

(The lonely night discloses)

Like a passing breeze

Filled with memories

Of a golden smile

That introduced me to

The days of wine and roses and you

CROSS MY BROKEN HEART (BEVERLY HILLS COP II, 1987)

The famous brothers and sisters '80s group The Jets provided one of the coolest songs (Cross My Broken Heart) in the sequel to Eddie Murphy's successful cop comedy flick, Beverly Hills Cop II.

CROSS MY BROKEN HEART
sung by: the Jets

Cross my broken heart, boy
Cross my broken heart for you
I’m going to stay this time
Cross my broken heart, boy
Swear I’ll never part from you
I want you to be mine

I know you think I’m not
Your picture perfect jewel
Who’ll never break apart
When everything was cool
I needed to explore
And open up the door
But now I need you more

I’m sending out a message
A message so sincere
When I close my eyes
I need to feel you
Can't get you off my mind
For leaving me this time
I’m still in love with you

Cross my broken heart, boy
Cross my broken heart for you
I’m going to stay this time
Cross my broken heart, boy
Swear I’ll never part from you
I want you to be mine

If I had your attention
I’d tell you what I learned
Despite of good intentions
It's easy to get burned
I learned my lesson well
It’s you I need to tell
This time I’m all for you

I need for you to trust me
To give me all my best
I’ll prove just what your love means
Just put me to the test
This time I need to stay
Don’t need to go away
I’m still in love with you

Cross my broken heart, boy
Cross my broken heart for you
I’m going to stay this time
Cross my broken heart, boy
Swear I’ll never part from you
I want you to be mine

You’re my morning sun
You’re my shining star
You’re my number one
Cross my broken heart
In your eyes I see
What you mean to me
You’re my destiny

(INSTRUMENTAL)

I’m sending out a message
A message so sincere
When I close my eyes
I need to feel you near
Can’t get you off my mind
For leaving me this time
I’m still in love with you

You’re my morning sun
You’re my shining star
You’re my number one
Cross my broken heart
In your eyes I see
What you mean to me
You’re my destiny

Cross my broken heart, boy
Cross my broken heart for you
I’m going to stay this time
Cross my broken heart, boy
Swear I’ll never part from you
I want you to be mine

Cross my broken heart, boy
Cross my broken heart for you
I’m going to stay this time
Cross my broken heart, boy
Swear I’ll never part from you
I want you to be mine

Cross my broken heart, boy
Cross my broken heart for you

COME INTO MY LIFE (COMING TO AMERICA, 1988)

One of Eddie Murphy's signature film in the '80s is about an African prince (Eddie Murphy) who goes to New York to find a bride. Murphy and co-star Arsenio Hall take on numerous roles for the film. Joe Esposito and Laura Branigan sang the ballad theme from the movie, Come Into My Life.

COME INTO MY LIFE
sung by: Laura Branigan & Joe Esposito

No one believes me
When I say I’ve fin’lly found
The girl I’ll love
Maybe I’ve been alone too long

Now my intuition leads me
Movin’ down the road
That takes me to your door
'Cause I know we’re something strong together

Oh, this isn’t easy for a man
I need to say it
Girl I really mean it
I’m asking you to stay

Come into my life
Tonight will last forever
Nobody’s touch has ever been so right
Let’s take this all the way
Come into my life
Surrender to the feeling
You’ve got what I’ve been needing for so long
So say that you will
Come into my life

I’m through pretending
That I’ve got everything
A girl could ever need
Baby it’s time I saw the light

I was strong and independent
But that never warms me
On the winter’s night
And I wanna hold you tight and tell you

Loving you has shown me
What it is I need to feel
When you’re least expected
You’ll find the one that’s real

So come into my life
Tonight will last forever
Nobody’s touch has ever been so right
Let’s take this all the way
Come into my life
Surrender to the feeling
You’ve got what I’ve been needing all along
So say that you will
Come into my life

No one can know how far has it carry us
We take it day by day just walking it half home
Oh I’ll try to say it tonight
And I hope it comes out right
Oh I’ve never been so better
As I have my love

So come into my life
Tonight will last forever
Nobody’s touch has ever been so right
Let’s take this all the way
Come into my life
Surrender to the feeling
You’ve got what I’ve been needing all long
So say that you will

Come into my life
Tonight will last forever
Nobody’s touch has ever been so right
Let’s take this all the way
Come into my life
Surrender to the feeling
You’ve got what I’ve been missing all along
So say that you will (say that you will)
Come into my life
Into my life

COME AND FOLLOW ME (NUMBER 5's THEME) (SHORT CIRUIT, 1986)

Who doesn't love and remember Number 5 a.ka. Johnny 5? The funny and friendly robot who was originally planned as a government experimental robot who becomes intelligent? Max Carl and Marcella Detroit sang the fun tune Come And Follow Me that suits the film's theme. 80's kids will always have fond memories of this film that results in a sequel two years after.

COME AND FOLLOW ME
(NUMBER 5’S THEME)
sung by: Max Carl & Marcella Detroit (as Marcy Levy)

Feels like I came alive just yesterday
Feels like I’m always gonna feel this way
Hearts havin’ set in motion
Worlds havin’ turned around
When you’ve been lost you know when you’ve been found

Easy to hide and live your life apart
Easy to find new ways to kill the heart
But I’ve lived through some changes
Laughter as well as pain
Now I can dance in sunshine or in rain

Come and follow me
To wherever the light breaks through
Come and follow me
And you’re gonna be dancing too
In your eyes I see
You’re alive as me
So whenever I’m lost then I can follow you

Too many people throw it all away
Can’t seem to take another empty day
Trick is to keep believin’
Trick is to simply see
Just how great the gift of life can be

Come and follow me
To wherever the light breaks through
Come and follow me
And you’re gonna be dancing too
In your eyes I see
You’re alive as me
So whenever I’m lost then I can follow you

Just when the light seems to be goin’ dim
You will be there I know like a true friend
Helpin’ me to shine again
Shine again

Come and follow me
To wherever the light breaks through
Come and follow me
And you’re gonna be dancing too
In your eyes I see
You’re alive as me
So whenever I’m lost then I can follow you
Come and follow me
Come and follow me, Baby
In your eyes I see
You’re alive as me
So whenever I’m lost then I can follow you…

4 MINUTES (GET SMART, 2008)

Steve Carell plays the bumbling yet always-gets-his-work-done Agent Maxwell Smart in the modern remake of the classic t.v. series starring Don Adams. An okay effort with some real funny moments provided by Carell and even his sidekick Agent 99 played by Anne Hathaway. Justin Timberlake and Madonna's hit tune 4 Minutes were used and heard at the end of the movie.

4 MINUTES
sung by: Justin Timberlake & Madonna
(Feat. Timbaland)

TIMBALAND:
I’m outta time and all I got is 4 minutes
I’m outta time and all I got is 4 minutes
I’m outta time and all I got is 4 minutes
I’m outta time and all I got is 4 minutes
I’m outta time and all I got is 4 minutes
I’m outta time and all I got is 4 minutes
I’m outta time and all I got is 4 minutes
I’m outta time and all I got is 4 minutes
Come on, yeah
Break down
Come on

MADONNA:
Come on, boy
I’ve been waiting for somebody
To pick up my stroll

JUSTIN:
Well, don’t waste time
Give me a sign
Tell me how you want to roll

MADONNA:
I want somebody to speed it up for me
Then take it down slow
There’s enough room for both

JUSTIN:
Well, I can handle that
You just gotta show me where it’s at
Are you ready to go? (Are you ready to go?)

MADONNA & JUSTIN:
If you want it
You already got it
If you thought it
It better be what you want
If you feel it
It must be real
Just say the word and
I’ma give you what you want

MADONNA & JUSTIN:
Time is waiting
We only got 4 minutes to save the world
No hesitating
Grab a boy, grab a girl
Time is waiting
We only got 4 minutes to save the world
No hesitating
We only got 4 minutes, 4 minutes

MADONNA, JUSTIN & TIMBALAND:
Keep it up, keep it up, don’t be a pri, hey
Madonna, uh
You gotta get in line, hop
Tick tock tick tock tick tock
That’s right, keep it up, keep it up, don’t be a pri, hey
Madonna, uh
You gotta get in line, hop
Tick tock tick tock tick tock

MADONNA:
Sometimes I think
What I need is a you intervention, yeah

JUSTIN:
And you know I can tell that you like it
And that it’s good
By the way that you move
Ooh, hey

MADONNA:
The road to hell
Is paved with good intentions, yeah

JUSTIN:
But if I die tonight
At least I can say I did what I wanted to do
Tell me, how ‘bout you?

MADONNA & JUSTIN:
If you want it
You already got it
If you thought it
It better be what you want
If you feel it
It must be real
Just say the word and
I’ma give you what you want

MADONNA & JUSTIN:
Time is waiting
We only got 4 minutes to save the world
No hesitating
Grab a boy, grab a girl
Time is waiting
We only got 4 minutes to save the world
No hesitating
We only got 4 minutes, 4 minutes

MADONNA, JUSTIN & TIMBALAND:
Keep it up, keep it up, don’t be a pri, hey
Madonna, uh
You gotta get in line, hop
Tick tock tick tock tick tock
That’s right, keep it up, keep it up, don’t be a pri, hey
Madonna, uh
You gotta get in line, hop
Tick tock tick tock tick tock

TIMBALAND:
Breakdown, yeah
(Tick tock tick tock tick tock)
Yeah, uh huh
(Tick tock tick tock tick tock)
I only got 4 minutes
To save the world

CHARADE (CHARADE, 1963)

Stanley Donen directed Charade, a romantic thriller with a touch of comedy. At times felt like it was handled by Alfred Hitchcock thus earning the phrase 'the best Hitchcock movie that Hitchcock never made'. The icon of beauty Audrey Hepburn and dashing Cary Grant stars. A melancholic theme compliments the film.

CHARADE
sung by: Chorus

When we played our charade
We were like children posing
Playing at games, acting out names
Guessing the parts we played

Oh what a hit we made
We came on next to closing
Best on the bill, lovers until
Love left the masquerade

Fate seemed to pull the strings
I turned and you were gone
While from the darkened wings
That music box played on

Sad little serenade
Song of my heart’s composing
I hear it still, I always will
Best on the bill
Charade

BROKEN (X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE, 2008)

The second and perhaps the last of the movie adaptation of one of the most succesful and iconic t.v. series ever produced, The X-Files. With subtitle: I Want To Believe, the film felt more like a full-length episode of the show itself sans alien-centric theme unlike the first film. Unkle, a british band with Gavin Clark provided the end theme Broken. A cool theme in fact.

BROKEN
sung by: Unkle feat. Gavin Clark

Dead state I can feel the weight
Light streaming in through an open grate
Two thread score tearing up the floor
Out in the alley with the trigger draw

Numb hands I can see the strand
Hold it together with a severed ban
Three lost years I’ve been crying here
I’m over, I’m over, I’m over, I’m broken

Strung out with wings of the dawn
Hole in the black, soul in the storm
Torn down through the cracks in the dark
We’re miles adrift, we’re inches apart

I’m hit I can feel the grit
Sat in the asher on the beaten brick
Two thread main running through the vein
Out in the centre with a mirrored cane

Numb feet I can hear you speak
Hold it together with a severed streak
Three full years I’ve been crying here
I’m over, I’m over, I’m over, I’m broken

Strung out with wings of the dawn
Hole in the black, soul in the storm
Torn down through the cracks in the dark
We’re miles adrift, we’re inches apart

Stood up on the side of the earth
Thrown back to the track to the dirt
Two thread lose an hour a day
We’re miles adrift, we’re inches away

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Strung out with wings of the dawn
Hole in the black soul in the storm
Two thread lose an hour a day
We’re miles adrift, we’re inches away
We’re miles adrift, we’re inches away

BORN TO HAVE IT ALL (CARRIE, 1976)

The 'other' Carrie song also sang by Katie Irving, Born To Have It All wasn't as popular as Katie's famous song in the movie Carrie but nevertheless memorable and touching as well. The theme was heard during the prom scene.

BORN TO HAVE IT ALL
sung by: Katie Irving

Young girls
Some were born to dance
Born to take a chance
Others sleep at home
And they dance alone
No one even knows

But you
You were born to touch
Born to want too much
Let the bodies fall
You were born to have it all
Born to have it all

And if you could cry
It would only be for more
Born to be the girl in the mirror
And the others want to be her

If a girl could wish
It would only be to be a girl like this
Oh, ‘cause she has it all
And for all they know
That is all there is

Young girls
Some were born to dance
Born to take a chance
Others sleep at home
And they sleep alone
No one even knows

CIRCLE OF LIFE (THE LION KING, 1994)

One of the very successful Disney-produced full-length animation was the story of one cub named Simba who will one day rule the dessert and thus be called 'The Lion King'. Elton John co-written most of the songs in the film.

CIRCLE OF LIFE
sung by: Elton John

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to be seen than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done

Some say eat or be eaten
Some say live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should never take more than you give

In the circle of life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

Some of us fall by the wayside
And some of us soar to the stars
And some of us sail through our troubles
And some have to live with the scars

There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round

In the circle of life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

It's the wheel of fortune, yeah
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding, yeah
In the circle, the circle of life

On the path unwinding, yeah
In the circle, the circle of life

CAT'S EYE (CAT'S EYE. 1985)

Lead by no less than young Drew Barrymore who battles an evil gnome living in her bedroom. Ray Stevens who sang Cat's Eye was used in the film.

CAT’S EYE
sung by: Ray Stevens

I didn’t know I was someday spelled
I couldn’t know there was no way to tell
I took a step, I slipped, I fell, I didn’t know why
Deep in the dark, it was too hard to see
That in the night it had come over me (huh!)
Just stole my soul, imprisoned me with your cat’s eye!

Cat’s Eye!
How you caught me unaware
Cat's Eye!
How you hold me in your cell
Cat’s Eye!
Won’t you hide, but tell me where
Cat’s Eye!
You got me spellbound

Cat’s Eye!
How you stole my breath away
Cat’s Eye!
How you tucked me night and day!
Cat'sEye!
I can never get away
Cat’s Eye!
I’m spellbound

It’s like a dream, only when do I wake
Can’t even scream, every breath that I take
Belongs to you, what can I do
Why should I try
I woke around like a boy in a trance
You pull the strings, I’m a puppet I dance
You are holding me, eternally
In your cat’s eye

Cat’s Eye!
Took my heart, was just a move
Cat’s Eye!
Every stare is like a hook
Cat’s Eye!
Just one look, is all it took
Cat’s Eye!
You made me spellbound

Cat’s Eye!
How you stole my breath away
Cat’s Eye!
How you tucked me night and day
Cat’s Eye!
I can never get away
Cat's Eye!
I’m Spellbound

It’s like a dream, only when do I wake
Can’t even scream, every breath that I take
Belongs to you, what can I do
Why should I try

Cat’s Eye!
Took my heart, was just a move
Cat’s Eye!
Every stare is like a hook
Cat’s Eye!
Just one look, is all it took
Cat’s Eye!
You made me spellbound

Cat’s Eye!
How you stole my breath away
Cat’s Eye!
How you tucked me night and day
Cat’s Eye!
I can never get away
Cat’s Eye!
I’m Spellbound
