GOODBYE TO YOU (FANTASTIC 4, 2005)

Just one of the few superhero movies that doesn't have only one superhero but four! Based on the successful Marvel comics series, four mere ordinary astronauts becomes unwilling super do-gooders when they gain powers caused by cosmic radiation. A fun family flick. Breaking Point's Goodbye To You is one of the author's all-time favorite contemporary movie theme.

GOODBYE TO YOU

sung by: Breaking Point

There’s so much I want to say now

But it’s too late I know

There’s no way to heal these wounds now

And my heart bleeds for you

And our love is crashing

Like a tidal wave

Coming over me

So I wanted you to know

That I finally let you go

After all I’ve held on to

This is my goodbye to you

I was always there for you

But you never saw the truth

And the reason that I know

Is I’ve finally let you go

Yesterday you were my best friend

But tomorrow took you away

There’s not much for me to say now

Just goodbye, farewell

And our love is crashing

Like a tidal wave

Coming over me

So I wanted you to know

That I finally let you go

After all I’ve held on to

This is my goodbye to you

I was always there for you

But you never saw the truth

And the reason that I know

Is I’ve finally let you go

And every time I close my eyes

My heart is bleeding deep inside

But now my eyes are open

And I’m never gonna be the one for you

The one for you

So I wanted you to know

That I finally let you go

After all I’ve held on to

This is my goodbye to you

I was always there for you

But you never saw the truth

And the reason that I know

Is I’ve finally let you go

I finally let you go
I finally let you go

Let you go, let you go

So this is my goodbye to you

HOW CAN I LIVE (FREDDY VS. JASON, 2003)

The time has come in 2003 for Elm Street's notorious child killer Freddy Krueger to meet Crystal Lake's unstoppable killing machine Jason Voorhees. It's not only the kids they're after but to each others as well. Who wins? Latino metal band Ill Nino sang the main theme for Freddy Vs. Jason.

HOW CAN I LIVE

sung by: Ill Nino

I am so alike you

In so many ways

I know I’m just a copy

That carries on the stain

But, we make the same mistakes

'Cause, we are one in the same

But, we leave behind the stain

That cannot separate

All that lies in me

All that dies in me

How can I live without you?

All that lies in me

All that dies in me

How can I live without you?

I am your mirror image

I’m all you left behind

You made me what I am

Then who the hell am I?

But, we make the same mistakes

'Cause, we are one in the same

But, we leave behind the stain

That cannot separate

All that lies in me
All that dies in me

How can I live without you?

All that lies in me

All that dies in me

How can I live without you?

We make the same mistakes

We are one in the same

Do you think of me?

Do you dream of me?

I always dream about you

Do you think of me?

Do you dream of me?

I always dream about you

All that lies in me

All that dies in me

How can I live without you?

All that lies in me

All that dies in me

How can I live without you?

HOLD ME, THRILL ME, KISS ME, KILL ME (BATMAN FOREVER, 1995)

In the third installment of Batman series introduced by Tim Burton, Batman Forever has in the film's soundtrack the band U2 rendered the theme titled Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me. The third part now has Val Kilmer for the titular role with Jim Carrey as The Riddler and Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face on board as caped crusader's arch villains.

HOLD ME, THRILL ME, KISS ME, KILL ME

sung by: U2

You don’t know how you took it

You just know what you got

Oh Lordy you’ve been stealing

From the thieves and you got caught

In the headlights

Of a stretch car

You’re a star

Dressing like your sister

Living like a tart

They don’t know what you’re doing

Babe, it must be art

You’re a headache

In a suitcase

You’re a star

Oh no, don’t be shy

You don’t have to go blind

Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me

You don’t know how you got here

You just know you want out

Believing in yourself

Almost as much as you doubt

You’re a big smash

You wear it like a rash

Star

Oh no, don’t be shy

There’s a crowd to cry

Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me

They want you to be Jesus

They’ll go down on one knee

But they’ll want their money back

If you’re alive at thirty-three

And you’re turning tricks

With your crucifix

You’re a star

(Oh child)

Of course you’re not shy

You don’t have to deny love

Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me

HELENA (HOUSE OF WAX, 2005)

One of the countless horror remakes was shown in 2005 via the flick, House Of Wax. The movie was based on Vincent Price's original classic which in turn was based in the 1933 version Mystery Of The Wax Museum. The latest version merits some really creepy and gory scenes (Paris Hilton gets to have the most fun) but still cannot hold a candle for the Vincent Price version. My Chemical Romance provided their song in the film's soundtrack, Helena.

HELENA
sung by: My Chemical Romance

Long ago
Just like the hearse you die to get in again
We are so far from you

Burning on just like a match you strike to incinerate
The lives of everyone you know
And what’s the worst you take (worst you take)
From every heart you break (heart you break)
And like the blade you stain (blade you stain)
Well I’ve been holding on tonight

What’s the worst thing I could say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight

Came a time
When every star fall brought you to tears again
We are the very hurt you sold
And what’s the worst you take (worst you take)
From every heart you break (heart you break)
And like the blade you stain (blade you stain)
Well I’ve been holding on tonight

What’s the worst thing I could say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight

Well if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight

Can you hear me?
Are you near me?
Can we pretend to leave and then
We’ll meet again
When both our cars collide?

What’s the worst thing I could say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight

Well if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight

HE'S BACK (FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI - JASON LIVES, 1986)

No less than Alice Cooper sang the theme He's Back in the sixth installment of the successful and notorious slasher series Friday The 13th. Subtitled Jason Lives, this is the part where Jason comes back from the grave ala Frankenstein's monster and goes on his usual killing spree. The best in the whole F13 series in my book, peppered with some humour while maintaining the gore and suspense that is expected in the series.

HE’S BACK (THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK)

Alice Cooper

You’re with your baby

And you’re parked alone

On a summer night

You’re deep in love

But you’re deeper in the woods

You think you’re doin’ alright

Did you hear that voice

Did you see that face

Or was it just a dream

This can’t be real

That only happens, babe

On the movie screen

Oh, but he’s back

He’s the man behind the mask

And he’s out of control

He’s back

The man behind the mask

And he crawled out of his hole

You’re swimmin’ with your girl

Out on lovers’ lake

And the wind blows cold

It chills your bones

But you’re still on the make

That’s a bad mistake

But the moon was full

And you had a chance

To be all alone

But you’re not alone

This is your last dance

And your last romance

Yeah, ‘cause he’s back

He’s the man behind the mask

And he’s out of control

He’s back

The man behind the mask

And he crawled out of his hole

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Oh, if you see him comin’

Get away if you can

Just keep on runnin’

Run as fast as you can

He’s a dangerous, dangerous man

And he’s out tonight

And he’s watchin’ you

And he knows your house

No, don’t turn out the lights

Yeah, 'cause he’s back

He’s the man behind the mask

And he’s out of control

He’s back

The man behind the mask

And he’s after your soul

He’s back

He’s the man behind the mask

And he’s out of control

He’s back

The man behind the mask

And he’s after your soul

He’s back

He’s the man behind the mask

And he’s out of control

He’s back

The man behind the mask

And he’s after your soul

I DON'T CARE (SEX DRIVE, 2008)

One of the recent comedies that falls under the category naughty comedy. Sex Drive is a raunchy teen road movie about a nerdy highschool senior Ian (Josh Zuckerman) who travelled with his bestfriend to the meet the girl he met online. Based on the novel All the Way by Andy Behrens. Fall Out Boy sang the promotional theme I Don't Care.

I DON’T CARE

sung by: Fall Out Boy

Say my name, and his in the same breath
I dare you to say they taste the same
Let the leaves fall off in the summer
And let December glow feel flames

Brace myself and let go
Start it over again in Mexico
These friends, they don’t love you
They just love the hotel suites, now

I don’t care what you think
As long as it’s about me
The best of us can find happiness
In misery

Said, I don’t care what you think
As long as it’s about me
The best of us can find happiness
In misery

Oh, take a chance, let your body get a tolerance
I’m not a chance, but a heat wave in your pants
Pull a breath like another cigarette,
Palms up, I’m trading ‘em (trading ‘em)

I’m the oracle in my chest,
Let the guitar scream like a fascist
Sweat it out, shut your mouth
Free love on the streets, but
In the alley and I ain’t that cheap, now

I don’t care what you think
As long as it’s about me
The best of us can find happiness
In misery

Said I don’t care what you think
As long as it’s about me
The best of us can find happiness
In misery

Said-a, I don’t care just a-what you think
As long as it’s about me, you said-a
I don’t care just what you think,
As long as it’s about me, you said-a
I don’t care (I don’t care)
You said I don’t care (I don’t care)
Said I don’t care,
I don’t care
I don’t care (I don’t care), I said-a
I don’t care

I don’t care what you think
As long as it’s about me
The best of us can find happiness
In misery

Said I don’t care what you think
As long as it’s about me
The best of us can find happiness
In misery

Said I don’t care what you think
As long as it’s about me
The best of us can find happiness
In misery...

HEY NOW NOW (I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, 1998)

The sequel to the succesful slasher flick I Know What You Did last Summer returns with brand new victims and brand soundtrack. Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) thought her nightmares were over until she received yet another letter with the note: 'I still know'. Swirl 360 sang the catchy Hey Now Now.

HEY NOW NOW
sung by: Swirl 360

On the inside

Do you know what you’re about

When I see you

I wanna free you

'Cause you’re always freaking out

We could be riding on the waves of an ocean, baby

Flying to the beat of our hearts

I wanna make you a star

Hey Now Now

Don’t you know

It’s not really that complicated

Hey Now Now

When you come and go

It’s so hard for me to sleep at night

Hey Now Now

Listen you

Think of all of the time we’ve wasted

Hey Now Now
Hey Now Now
Hey Now Now

From the outside

Looking in I see your bright light

Yeah, believe it when I say

Everything will be alright

Gonna stay right here
When your sun don’t shine

While your head’s still up in the clouds

For crying out loud

Hey Now Now

Don’t you know

It’s not really that complicated

Hey Now Now

When you come and go

It’s so hard for me to sleep at night

Hey Now Now

Listen you

Think of all of the time we’ve wasted

Don’t ask how but dreams come true

And we’ll find a way to make it right

And if you think that innocence is dead

I’ll say it’s all inside your head

I’ve got to tell you how I feel

And you know we’re gonna make it for real

Meet me halfway

We can’t help but come together

I’ll make you happy

I’ll show you what this love’s about

Hey Now Now
Don’t you know

It’s not really that complicated

Hey Now Now

When you come and go

It’s so hard for me to sleep at night

Hey Now Now

Listen you

Think of all of the time we’ve wasted

Don’t ask how but dreams come true

And we’ll find a way to make it right

Hey Now Now (hey now now)
Find a way to make it right, hey now now (hey now now)
Find a way to make it right, hey now now (hey now now)
Find a way to make it right, don’t ask how (hey now now)
Find a way to make it right

Hey Now Now!

HOW SOON IS NOW (THE CRAFT, 1995)

In The Craft, Robin Tunney plays Sarah Bailey, a school newcomer who befriended a group of outcast girls who happens to practice witchcraft. Fairuza Balk who plays one of the outcast is quite convincing as Nancy Downs. Love Spit Love's How Soon Is Now is included in the film's soundtrack. The same song was used in the t.v. series Charmed, a show about do-gooder witch sisters.

HOW SOON IS NOW?

sung by: Love Spit Love

I am the son and the heir

Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar

I’m the son and heir

Of nothing in particular

You shut your mouth, how can you say

I go about things the wrong way

I am human and I need to be loved

Just like everybody else does

I am the son and the heir

Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar

I’m the son and heir

Of nothing in particular

You shut your mouth, how can you say

I go about things the wrong way

I am human and I need to be loved

Just like everybody else does

There’s a club, if you’d like to go

You could meet someone who really loves you

So you go, and you stand on your own and you leave on your own

And you go home, and you cry and you want to die

When you say it’s gonna happen "now"

When exactly do you mean?
See, I’ve already waited too long

And all my hope is gone

Someday

Not one in particular

I ALWAYS THOUGHT I’D SEE YOU AGAIN (JETSONS THE MOVIE, 1990)

'80s Teen popstar Tiffany takes shot via the song I Always Thought I'd See You Again for the animated film The Jetsons Movie. The tune that is very much like hers during the 80s. Tiffanys also voiced Judy Jetson in the film.

I ALWAYS THOUGHT I’D SEE YOU AGAIN

sung by: Tiffany

No, I’m not making that promise again

Nothing can change my mind

Nothing at all

'Cause love has a way of coming undone

Till I’m all alone with my heart

And here I’ll stay

And I always thought I’d see you again

Oh how it hurts every time you’ve crossed my heart since then

Gotta give it all it takes to hold what might have been

And I always thought I’d see you again

Now, there’s no reason to run for the phone

No need to hold my breath

Hoping it’s you

Each time I see someone we used to know

Or go someplace we used to go
It’s not the same’

'Cause I always thought I’d see you again

Oh how it hurts every time you’ve crossed my heart since then

Gotta give it all it takes to hold what might have been

'Cause I always thought I’d see you again

Love doesn’t come when you need love

It’s not always there when you fall

Try as you may, you’ve got nothing to say

Nothing at all

(INSTRUMENTAL)

I always thought I’d see you again

Oh how it hurts every time you’ve crossed my heart again

Gotta give it all it takes to hold what might have been

'Cause I always thought I’d see you again

'Cause I always thought I’d see you again

NO EASY WAY OUT (ROCKY IV, 1985)

Perhaps, the most exciting fight of Rocky Balboa happens to be in Rocky IV. After defeating Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) and Clubber Lang (Mr. T), he faces off with Russia's 'superman' Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) after the brutal death of Apollo Creed. Rocky IV boasts once again of 'pump-til-you-drop' themes. No Easy way Out sang by Robert Tepper is one of them.

NO EASY WAY OUT
sung by: Robert Tepper

We're not indestructible

Baby better get that straight

I think it's unbelievable

How you give into the hands of fate

Some things are worth fightin' for

Some feelings never die

I'm not askin' for another chance
I just wanna know why

There's no easy way out

There's no shortcut home

There's no easy way out

Givin' in can't be wrong

I don't wanna pacify you

I don't wanna drag you down

But I'm feelin like a prisoner

Like a stranger in a no named town

I see all the angry faces

Afraid that could be you and me

Talkin' about what might have been

I'm thinkin about what I used to be

There's no easy way out

There's no shortcut home

There's no easy way out

Givin' in can't be wrong

Baby, baby we can shed this skin

We can know how we feel inside

Instead of goin' down an endless road

Not knowin if we're dead or alive

Some things are worth fightin' for

Some feelings never die

I'm not askin' for another chance

I just wanna know why

There's no easy way out

There's no shortcut home

There's no easy way out

Givin' in, givin' in can't be wrong, no

There's no easy way out (There's no easy way out)

There's no shortcut home (There's no shortcut home)

There's no easy way out (There's no easy, no easy, no easy way out)

There's no easy way out (There's no easy way out)

There's no shortcut home (There's no shortcut home)

There's no easy way out (There's no easy, no easy, no easy way out)

There's no easy way out

There's no shortcut home

There's no easy way out

HOIST THE COLOURS (PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN AT WORLD'S END, 2007)

The third and last entry in The Pirates Of The Carribean saga (until the not so recent news of the fourth entry) is so-called the ultimate adventure of Jack Sparrow in the High Seas taking along for the ride Captain Barbossa, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.

HOIST THE COLOURS

(uncredited)

Yo ho, haul together

Hoist the colours high

Heave ho

Thieves and beggars

Never shall we die

The king and his men

Stole the queen from her bed

And bound her in her bones

The seas be ours

And by the powers

Where we will we’ll roam

Yo ho, haul together

Hoist the colours high

Heave ho
Thieves and beggars

Never shall we die

Some men have died

And some are alive

And others sail on the sea

With the keys to the cage

And the devil to pay

We lay to Fiddler’s Green

The bell has been raised

From its watery grave

Do you hear it’s sepulchral tone?

We are a call to all

Pay head the squall

And turn your sail toward home

Yo ho, haul together

Hoist the colours high

Heave ho

Thieves and beggars

Never shall we die

GOODBYE TO YOU (ALL OVER THE GUY, 2001)

All Over The Guy, though marketed as a romantic comedy explores the theme of finding 'the one' as experienced by two unlikely twentysomething couples. Michelle Branch sang one of her hits Goodbye To You.

GOODBYE TO YOU

sung by: Michelle Branch

Of all the things I’ve believed in

I just want to get it over with

Tears form behind my eyes

But I do not cry

Counting the days that pass me by

I’ve been searching deep down in my soul

Words that I’m hearing are starting to get old

It feels like I’m starting all over again

The last three years were just pretend

And I said,

Goodbye to you

Goodbye to everything I thought I knew

You were the one I loved

The one thing that I tried to hold on to

I still get lost in your eyes

And it seems that I can’t live a day without you

Closing my eyes and you chase my thoughts away

To a place where I am blinded by the light

But it’s not right

Goodbye to you

Goodbye to everything I thought I knew

You were the one I loved

The one thing that I tried to hold on to

And it hurts to want everything and nothing at the same time

I want what’s yours and I want what’s mine

I want you

But I’m not giving in this time

Goodbye to you

Goodbye to everything I thought I knew

You were the one I loved

The one thing that I tried to hold on to

Goodbye to you

Goodbye to everything I thought I knew

You were the one I loved

The one thing that I tried to hold on to

The one thing that I tried to hold on to

And when the stars fall

I will lie awake

You’re my shooting star

Hello again, hello

Just called to say ‘hello’

I couldn’t sleep at all tonight

And I know it’s late

But I couldn’t wait

Hello, my friend, hello

Just called to let you know

I think about you every night

When I’m here alone

And you’re there at home

Hello

Maybe it’s been crazy

And maybe I’m to blame

But I put my heart above my head

We’ve been through it all

And you loved me just the same

And when you’re not there

I just need to hear

Hello, my friend, hello

It’s good to need you so

It’s good to love you like I do

And to feel this way

When I hear you say

Hello

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Hello, my friend, hello

Just called to let you know

I think about you every night

And I know it’s late

But I couldn’t wait

Hello

He discovers his passion for dancing and in came Ruby Sinclair (Williams). Gloria Estefan sang the theme Heaven's What I Feel.

HEAVEN’S WHAT I FEEL

sung by: Gloria Estefan

Love sometimes

Can be like destiny

There’s no way to say forever

May not realize your dreams

And love sometimes

Is like the blowin’ wind

It can take us to wherever

Sending us sometime it wings

But I have broken

All the rules of love

I never dreamed that

I could come this far

And now I’m lost in my emotions

You’re becoming my devotion

There’s nothing I can do

To stop this love for you

I was not supposed

To fall in love with you

I have someone else

And someone else is loving you

And I was not supposed

To let this love get through

So let me say for real

Heaven’s what I feel

When I’m with you

This feeling is forever

You make me feel like heaven

My love is true when I’m with you

How could I have known

That in your eyes

I would find the deepest answer

To the questions of my heart

And how could I have known

That by your side

Was the light to fill the darkness

And the shadows of my life

But I have broken

All the rules of love

I never dreamed

That I could come this far

And now I’m lost in my emotion

You’re becoming my devotion

There’s nothing I can do

To stop this love for you

I was not supposed

To fall in love with you

I have someone else

And someone else is loving you

And I was not supposed

To Let this love get through

So let me say for real

Heaven’s what I feel

When I’m with you

Heaven....heaven…

Is what I feel

When we’re together

Heaven....heaven…

Just look in my eyes

And you’ll see it’s the truth

I was not supposed

To fall in love with you

I have someone else

And someone else is loving you

And I was not supposed

To let this love get through

So let me say for real

Heaven’s what I feel

When I’m with you

HE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE (BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, 2005)

Legendary country singer-songwriter Willie Nelson provided one of the songs, He Was A Friend Of Mine, in the award-winning and acclaimed film, Brokeback Mountain. A simply apt tune from the film helmed by Ang Lee.

HE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE

He was a friend of mine

He was a friend of mine

Every time I think of him

I just can’t keep from cryin’

'Cause he was a friend of mine

He died on the road

He died on the road

He just kept on moving

Never reaped what he could sow

And he was a friend of mine

(INSTRUMENTAL)

I stole away and cried

I stole away and cried

'Cause I never had too much money

And I never been quite satisfied

And he was a friend of mine

He never done no wrong

He never done no wrong

A thousand miles from home

And he never harmed no one

And he was a friend of mine

(INSTRUMENTAL)

He was a friend of mine

He was a friend of mine

Every time I hear his name Lord

I just can’t keep from cryin’

'Cause he was a friend of mine

GOOD FRIEND

sung by: Mary MacGregor

If you let me I could be your good friend

I know that if you let me

We could walk together

We’re not so different, you know

Though we may have different dreams

When they fall apart

We hurt the same it seems

I’m so sure so don’t you bet me

I just know that if you let me

I’ll show you that I could be

Your good friend

Someone to share your good times

Someone who you can count on

That someone, who when you turn to

Won’t turn away

If you let me I could be your good friend

I know that if you let me

We could walk together

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Oh woh...

I’m so sure so don’t you bet me

I just know that if you let me

I’ll show you that I could be

Your good friend

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, 1963)

Quintessential crooner Matt Monro sang the theme from 1963's James Bond film, From Russia With Love. Sean Connery's second turn to play the iconic 007 Agent James Bond is on the hunt for Lektor, a Russian decoding machine.

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

sung by: Matt Monro

From Russia with love, I fly to you

Much wiser since my goodbye to you

I’ve traveled the world to learn

I must return from Russia with love

I’ve seen places, faces and smiled for a moment

But oh, you haunted me so

Still my tongue tied, young pride

Would not let my love for you show

In case you’d say no

To Russia I flew but there and then

I suddenly knew you’d care again

My running around is through

I fly to you, from Russia with love

FLASHDANCE...WHAT A FEELING (FLASHDANCE, 1983)

One of the definitive dance movies of the '80s is Flashdance starring the ever youthful looking Jennifer Beals. Irene Cara sang the very upbeat and 'dance-'til-you-drop' tune Flashdance...What A Feeling.

FLASHDANCE…WHAT A FEELING

sung by: Irene Cara

First, when there’s nothing but a slow glowing dream

That your fear seems to hide deep inside your mind

All alone I have cried silent tears full of pride

In a world made of steel, made of stone

Well I hear the music, close my eyes, feel the rhythm

Wrap around, take a hold of my heart

What a feeling, bein’s believin’

I can’t have it all, now I’m dancin’ for my life

Take your passion, and make it happen

Pictures come alive, you can dance right through your life

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Now I hear the music, close my eyes, I am rhythm

In a flash it takes hold of my heart

What a feeling, bein’s believin’

I can’t have it all, now I’m dancin’ for my life

Take your passion, and make it happen

Pictures come alive, you can dance right through your life

What a feeling!

(INSTRUMENTAL)

What a feeling (I am music now), bein’s believin’ (I am rhythm now)

Pictures come alive, you can dance right through your life

What a feeling (I can really have it all)

What a feeling (Pictures come alive when I call)

I can have it all (I can really have it all)

Have it all (Pictures come alive when I call)

(Call, call, call, call, what a feeling) I can have it all

(Bein’s believin’) bein’s believin’

(Take your passion, make it happen) make it happen

(What a feeling) what a feeling... …

FIRST TIME EVER I SAW YOUR FACE (PLAY MISTY FOR ME, 1971)

One of the most beautiful song ever recorded was sang by Roberta Flack used in the film Play Misty For Me. The story centers around Dave, a dics jockey (Clint Eastwood) who was chased and later harrassed by a demented fan named Evelyn Draper (a Golden Globe nominated role by Jessica Walter). A classy suspense film in the '70s from one classy director that was Clint Eastwood.

FIRST TIME EVER I SAW YOUR FACE

sung by: Roberta Flack

The first time ever I saw your face

I thought the sun rose in your eyes

And the moon and stars were the gift you gave

To the dark and the endless skies, my love

To the dark and the end of the skies

The first time ever I kissed your mouth

I felt the earth move in my hand

Like a trembling heart of a captive bird

That was there at my command, my love

That was there at my command

The first time ever I lay with you

And felt your heart so close to mine

And I knew our joy would fill the earth

And last till the end of time, my love

And it would last till the end of time

The first time ever I saw your face

Your face

Your face

Your face

FIRST LOVE

sung by: Christopher Atkins & Kristy McNichol (Frederic & Mabel)

FREDERIC:

When will I find I love?

Where will she be

And if she’s out there will she wait for me?

MABEL:

How will he know me?

Will I know him?

Is there no end to all my questioning?

FREDERIC: Can I believe what I am seeing, what I am feeling

Something so rare, watching her there

She makes my heart stop

MABEL:

Can I believe what I’m feeling, my head is reeling

He just looked my way, from the start I can say

I will give him everything

Strange emotions wash over me

Like the motion of the deepest sea

And I feel

BOTH:

First love (I need nobody but you)

You’re all I’m dreamed of (I will be constant and true)

Love moves me inside like the moon moves the tide

My first love

FREDERIC: Can it be true?

Can this be real love?

Am I worthy of a vision so pure

O lovely one, she’s what I waited for

MABEL: Can it be true, or am I dreaming?

He makes my heart sing

Watching his eyes, a look that warms me like the sunrise

Strange emotions are calling me

I am falling, falling helplessly in

BOTH:

First love (I need nobody but you)

You’re all I’m dreamed of (I will be constant and true)

Love moves me inside like the moon moves the tide

My first love

BOTH:

Some kind of miracle brought you here

Just when I’d given up hoping

From the moment when you first appeared

I could feel my whole life opening in In first love (I need nobody but you)

You’re all I dreamed of (I will be constant and true)

Love moves me inside

Like the moon moves the tide

My first love (I need nobody but you)

My first love (I will be constant and true)

My first love (Ooh, they say that it’s true)

My first love

And I promise to be true to you

My first love
