ALWAYS (ALWAYS SUNSET ON THIRD STREET, 2005)

This is the one time I'll be posting a foreign movie theme. A lost friend once introduced me to this wonderful, wonderful japanese movie called Always Sunset On Third Street a.k.a. Always San-Chome No Yuhi (2005). Japanese band D-51 sang the theme 'Always'. Here's to him. Today's his birthday.

ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER (SKY HIGH, 2005)

Sky High may be deemed the live version of Disney-Pixar's hugely succesful The Incredibles. But one cannot compare with the other. Sky High soars as one of the most entertaining family adventure made in the cannon of Disney. It's funny, exciting and most of all, has a lesson to share, superhero or not. One of the songs heard during the party scene was One Thing Leads To Another by Steven Strait. Cool and catchy.

ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER
sung by: Steven Strait

My deception with tact
Just what are you trying to say
You’ve got a blank face which irritates
Communicate pull out your party piece
You see dimensions in two
State your case in black or white
And when one little bump
Leads to shock miss a beat
You run for cover so discreet

Why don’t they do what they say
Say what you mean
One thing leads to another
You told me something’s wrong
I know I listen too long but than
One thing leads to another

The impression that you sell
Passes in and out like a scent
But the long face that you see
Comes from living close to your fears
If this is up, than I’m up
Are you running out of sight

You see your name up in lights
And when one little bump
Leads to shock miss a beat
You run for cover in this heat

Why don’t they do what they say
Say what you mean
One thing leads to another
You told me something’s wrong
You know I listen too long but than
One thing leads to another yeah, yeah, yeah
(One thing, one thing…leads to another...)

And it’s easy to believe
That somebody’s been lying to me
But when the wrong word
Goes in the right ear
I know you’ve been lying to me
It’s getting rough, off the cuff
I’ve got to say enough’s enough
Bigger the harder he falls
But when the wrong antidote
Like a bulge on the throat
You run for cover in the heat

Why don’t they do what they say
Say what you mean
One thing leads to another
You told me something’s wrong
You know I listen too long but than
One thing leads to another yeah, yeah, yeah
(One thing, one thing…leads to another...)

CIRCLE OF LIFE (THE LION KING, 1994)

Arguably, the most successful animated film from Disney in recent years was The Lion King. The story centers around the life of a young lion prince named Simba, his journey to become the lion king. Sir Elton John sang one of his famous songs from the film's soundtrack, Circle Of Life. One of the biggest hits in box-office history, the animated family flick was recently being shown again in theaters in 3D.

CIRCLE OF LIFE

sung by: Elton John

From the day we arrive on the planet

And blinking, step into the sun

There's more to be seen than can ever be seen

More to do than can ever be done

Some say eat or be eaten

Some say live and let live

But all are agreed as they join the stampede

You should never take more than you give

In the circle of life

It's the wheel of fortune

It's the leap of faith

It's the band of hope

Till we find our place

On the path unwinding

In the circle, the circle of life

Some of us fall by the wayside

And some of us soar to the stars

And some of us sail through our troubles

And some have to live with the scars

There's far too much to take in here

More to find than can ever be found

But the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky

Keeps great and small on the endless round
